About Mountain West Kids

We put a lot of energy into creating safe and fun environments where kids can learn about Jesus! It’s a place where faith, imagination, and learning go hand-in-hand. It’s a place where loving God is cool!

Our volunteers and Kids staff are the best! You can be sure your kids will be well loved and taken care of while you enjoy service.

We think church should be fun for kids, so we’ve created experiences that are a blast for children of all ages! Your kids will get a chance to meet new friends during our pre-gathering game time.  Our desire is that they will experience hope through worship, a Bible storytelling, and small groups with other children their age.

Your First Visit!

If it’s your first time bringing your kids to Mountain West, don’t worry…we’ve taken care of everything! Just head over to the New Family Registration desk and we’ll meet your family and register you into our check-in system.
During registration, we will ask for the following information: family members’ names, children’s birth dates and grades, address, phone number, and any special instructions for your child (allergies, medical conditions, special needs). This helps us make sure your kids are safe while you’re enjoying the service! Once the registration has been completed, a host will show you and your child to their age-appropriate room.

How Check-In Works

If your family is already registered in our system, just head to the Kids Lobby where we offer a fast and convenient Family Check-In procedure. Follow these quick and easy steps:
  1. Enter your phone number into one of the tablets located in the Kid’s Lobby. All children who are eligible for check-in can be selected at once.
  2. After selecting your child’s name on the tablet, you and your child(ren) will be given matching check-in stickers for that Gathering. One sticker will be used as a pick-up ticket, and the second sticker will be placed on your child as a name tag.
  3. After the Gathering, you’ll return to the same location you dropped your child off and show your pick-up ticket(s) to the volunteer at the door. A child will not be released to their guardian without presenting their pick-up ticket.
Please note: If we need to contact you during the Gathering, we will text the primary adult in our check-in system.

What To Expect

Creative Biblical Teaching
Bible stories and spiritual truths will come to life through skits, activities, and discussions. It’s our goal that kids learn to love God’s Word and understand the value of applying it to their lives.

Age-Specific Environments
Our environment and lessons are tailored to meet the spiritual and developmental needs of each group. The MW Kids area consists of nursery, preschool, and elementary areas.

Safety
Safety is one of our highest priorities! Every time you check your kids in you’ll receive a unique parent identification tag that corresponds to your child’s tag. Additionally, every Hope Team member is screened and participates in a background check.

Fun
When kids have a blast at church, they can’t wait to come back! You can be sure that your kids will have fun each week as they learn about who God is through games, activities, small groups, and teaching.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I bring my newborn?

We ask that babies be at least 8 weeks old before checking them into our kids’ area.

What are the age ranges for each area?

Our kids ministry consists of three parts: nursery (8 weeks old to three years), preschool (3 years to 5 years), and elementary (kindergarten to 5th grade).

Do you allow food?

No outside food or drinks are allowed in our children's areas aside from infant bottles. The nursery area is the only place we provide snacks. The snack of the day will be posted on the door. Please let our team know if your child cannot participate in snack time.

Do you accommodate for special needs?

Yes! We use the Buddy System and a sensory room to help accommodate children with different abilities. Let our check-in team know what your child’s specific needs are.
